Communication Consultants
Communication Consultants are the face of Words+ in your local community and your state. As a Words+ Communication Consultant, you will be instrumental in providing the tools and training that help our clients maximize their potential. It is an exciting and rewarding job that will take you to every corner of the assigned territory.

We are seeking Communication Consultants in the following regions:
Bay area, Sacramento, Reno and other Northern California cities.

In this position, you will:

  • Demonstrate Words+ equipment for clients and their families, therapists, teachers, and others in the client's support network.
  • Build relationships with speech and language professionals in schools, clinics, hospitals, and evaluation centers.
  • Support speech professionals who are providing evaluation and therapy services for their clients.
  • Provide in-services on Words+ products to speech professionals.
  • Explain funding options (though actual funding is processed by our Funding Department)
  • Train and support clients in effective use of their devices.
  • Work with local user groups and support chapters.

This position requires the following skills and abilities:

  • Experience in any of the following areas is relevant: education, special education, assistive technology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, rehab engineering.
  • Prior experience with AAC equipment, assistive technology, or PC-compatible computers is desirable.
  • Previous sales experience is a plus.
  • Dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills and presentation skills.
  • Must be organized to manage a list of contacts throughout the assigned territory.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work from home or from our office in Lancaster, CA.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory. Requires flexible hours and overnight stays due to the size of the territory.
  • Handle AAC equipment up to twenty pounds, as well as wheeled equipment cases.
  • Occasional travel to national conferences.

This is a full-time employed position. Compensation consists of salary (depending on experience) and commissions. Travel and various expenses are paid. Company car or reimbursement for use of your personal car is available. Demonstration equipment is provided.
