HeadMouse Extreme
Translates Head Movements to Cursor Movements
The HeadMouse emulates a standard mouse by translating the movements of a user's head into directly proportional movements of the computer pointer. This wireless optical sensor tracks a tiny and disposable reflector, which is placed on the user's forehead or glasses, which combined with an on-screen keyboard allows the HeadMouse to completely replace the functions of a conventional keyboard. When used in conjunction with E Z Keys or Talking Screen, HeadMouse allows the user to operate Freedom or their own computer. The user can type and speak text by making keyboard selections from the E Z Keys on-screen keyboard. In Talking Screen, head movement moves the cursor to the desired symbols. Users make selections by holding the cursor on the desired character or symbol for a specified period of time (point and hold). Selections can also be made by moving the cursor to the desired target and activating a switch (point and click). HeadMouse is powered by an optional rechargeable battery for those who use non-powered wheelchairs. An optional cable powers HeadMouse from the battery source of powered wheelchairs. The small reflectors are sold in packets of 50, and each one can be used for several days under normal operating conditions.
